Dogging in Derbyshire

This is the definitive list of where to go dogging in Derbyshire. Follow this listing and you will find plenty of other Derbyshire doggers.

Buxton Doggers

For dogging in Buxton, head to the car park down at the Goyt Valley Reservoir. Take the Goyt Valley turn off at the Buxton end of Longhill and follow the road for half a mile or so. You will know when you are there. Cars with steamed up windows is a good sign.

Chesterfield Dogging

Chesterfield Doggers should toodle down to Linacre Reservoir and its associated car parks. From Chesterfield take the B6051 Newbold Road out of town and then take the left to Cutthorpe. Follow the winding country road to the entrance to the Reservoir on the left. A few car parks down here, and the second car park is the one you are looking for.

Derby Dogging

  • You will often find exhibitionist Derby doggers at Markeaton Park, in both of the main car parks and also the smaller rear car park. It can get busy, as in very busy, at weekends.
  • Allestree Park. This park has superb scenery and is very peaceful during the day. More importantly it has numerous secluded car parks, some of which attract regular doggers.

    Ilkeston Doggers

Go through Manners Industrial Estate and you will come across a turn off to Manner Floods. There is a little car park down here that anglers use. They are not the only ones fishing for a good catch.

    Matlock Dogging

Matlock Doggers are to be found at the High Ordish Picnic site, which is located on the north side of Coldharbour Lane that joins the B6014 Tansley to Stretton road. Highordish car park and picnic site offers stunning views over Ogston Reservoir, and hopefully you will get an eyeful of something else too.

    Willington

Go east out of Willington on the A5132 and after the old power station, turn left at the crossroads, and soon you will see a small lane to the right, sign posted to Arleston, where you will find a couple of lay bys that are used for dogging fun.

Here are some other Derbyshire dogging spots...
    Clay Cross - Hardwick Park
    Horsley - Sandy Lane
    Melbourne - Staunton Harold Reservoir
Ripley - the old brick works
Temple Normanton - the fishing pond car park
Wirksworth - Alport Height is a complete wild goose chase
